1. showing or requiring a fearless daring spirit.
2. willingness to take risks and act innovatively; confidence or courage.
If we are to experience the expansion of our comfort zones, develop new skills, ask for what we truly want, and grow into less fearful versions of ourselves, we must learn to harness our boldness.
In those instances where we choose to be bold, we get big things accomplished. I think it's safe to say that when you've pushed through setbacks, fears, and criticism and have ultimately achieved an important goal, you were stepping into your boldness. When we are bold, we instigate growth, progress, and movement for ourselves and those around us.
But what about those other times in life where a goal we have for ourselves remains just a mental fantasy, hope, or vision we'll pursue "someday" when we are less busy/have more money/have more free time/have less responsibilities/have more support/etc...?
In those times, a shift out of fear and into boldness can make a significant impact on our willingness to do the work of pursuing the goal or vision step by step. We first have to embrace and understand the fear, really get to know it, and then try on pursuing the vision even if it feels like we are taking a risk and could lose something in the process.
If you find you are playing small in some area of your life and could use support trying on aspects of your inner boldness, take a few moments to follow along with the guided meditation below. If you'd like to pursue your boldness and empowerment in a more structured and communal way, there are a few spots left in the upcoming Wisdom for Empowered Living women's group. Let me know if you'd like to reserve your space!
